Congressman Valadao Votes to Pass Final FY25 National Defense Authorization Act

Today, the House of Representatives passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) with Congressman David Valadao’s support.

WASHINGTON – Today, the House of Representatives passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) with Congressman David Valadao’s support. The FY25 NDAA authorizes funding for all discretionary military programs and activities – including personnel, operations, maintenance, procurement, research, and development. It also outlines critical policies and directives for the Department of Defense (DoD).

“Today I was proud to vote to provide our military with the critical resources needed to protect the safety of Americans, while also securing quality-of-life improvements and a well-deserved pay raise for our troops, said Congressman Valadao. “This bill ensures our military has the funding, equipment, and training necessary to effectively defend the United States against our adversaries. The passage of the NDAA has been a bipartisan effort for over 60 years, and I am proud that the House of Representatives and Senate have worked to produce a final bill that not only strengthens our defense capabilities, but also improves the quality of life for military families, strengthens our southern border, and ensures the Department of Defense is prepared to counter threats against our nation.”

Among other provisions, the FY25 NDAA:

  • Boosts compensation for servicemembers by authorizing a 14.5% pay raise for junior enlisted servicemembers and supports a 4.5% pay raise for all other servicemembers.
  • Improves housing by authorizing $954 million over the President’s request for housing maintenance accounts and over $569 million to build new family housing units.
  • Ensures access to medical care for servicemembers by expanding the number of doctors and nurses working for the DoD.
  • Increases access to childcare with over $176 million for the construction of new childcare centers.
  • Declares that it is the policy of the United States to ensure Israel has adequate capability to defend itself against Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah.
  • Fully funds deployment of National Guard troops in support of Border Patrol activities at the southwest border.
  • Fully funds military exercises with our allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific to counter China’s growing reach.
