One of the greatest privileges I have as a member of Congress is recognizing the honorable service of our nation’s veterans. I am proud to be a Commemorative Partner with the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration, a national 50th anniversary commemoration to thank and honor our Vietnam veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice.
California is home to over 500,000 Vietnam veterans, many of whom did not receive the respect and gratitude they deserved when they came home from their tours overseas. While we cannot change the past, we can properly honor our Vietnam veterans today by giving them the thanks and recognition they deserve.
I am proud to present Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pins at commemorative events in partnership with local veteran groups in the 21st Congressional District. Pinning ceremonies are an opportunity to recognize the veterans and family members who made an incredible sacrifice to our country with a lasting memento of the Nation’s thanks.
