WASHINGTON – This week, the House of Representatives voted on a supplemental appropriations bill for Israel, as well as several pieces of legislation to condemn terrorism and Anti-Semitism. Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-22) released the following statement:
“I stand with our key ally in the Middle East, Israel, as they continue to defend themselves against the barbaric attacks carried out by Iran-backed Hamas terrorists,” said Congressman Valadao. “U.S. support is critical for our ally Israel as they defend their right to exist. America must send a clear message that we support Israel and Jewish people here at home and abroad.”
With Congressman Valadao’s support, the House passed the following bills this week:
- H. Res. 798, Condemning the support of Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terrorist organizations at institutions of higher education, which may lead to the creation of a hostile environment for Jewish students, faculty, and staff.
- H.R. 6126, The Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, which provides $14.3 billion in emergency funding for Israel.
- H.R. 340, Hamas International Financing Prevention Act, which imposes sanctions with respect to foreign support for terrorist organizations, including Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
- H.Res. 559, Declaring it the policy of the United States that a nuclear Islamic Republic of Iran is not acceptable
