Congressman David G. Valadao to Serve as Co-Chair of Portuguese American Caucus
WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman David G. Valadao joined the Portuguese American Caucus as Co-Chair. The goal of the Portuguese American Caucus is to strengthen the long-standing ties between the United States and Portugal.
“My family immigrated to the United States from the Azores Islands of Portugal in search of the American dream,” said Congressman Valadao. “With more than one million individuals of Portuguese descent living in the United States, many share stories similar to that of my family. As a result, the positive contributions Portuguese-Americans have made to our society are evident. As Co-Chairs of the Caucus, it is important that we do our part to represent this community in Washington.”
