Today, the House of Representatives passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2023 with Congressman Valadao’s support. The FY23 NDAA outlines a $858 billion military budget, an increase of $45 billion over the President’s request.
WASHINGTON - Today, the House of Representatives passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2023 with Congressman Valadao’s support. The FY23 NDAA outlines a $858 billion military budget, an increase of $45 billion over the President’s request. The NDAA authorizes funding for all discretionary military programs and activities – including personnel, operations, maintenance, procurement, research, and development. It also outlines critical policies and directives for the Department of Defense. “In Congress, my most important duty is ensuring the safety of all Americans, including my constituents in the Central Valley,” said Congressman Valadao. “This year’s defense bill provides a robust budget to counteract the damaging impacts of inflation on our Department of Defense and military families, including a 4.6% pay raise for our troops. I’m proud to support this bipartisan effort to provide our military with the equipment, resources, and training needed to effectively defend the United States against our adversaries.” Among other provisions, the FY23 NDAA:
