WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-21) released the following statement after voting against the Fiscal Year 2023 Government Funding Bill.
“The American people are tired of Congress kicking the can down the road and pushing through trillions of dollars in government spending at the last minute. As an appropriator, it’s very frustrating that this is how we’re going about funding the government,” said Congressman Valadao. “Every Central Valley family is paying more for basic necessities thanks in part to Democrats’ unprecedented spending spree over the last two years. Instead of adjusting our spending like every family across my district is doing, Congress is spending even more money we don’t have. Republicans are committed to cutting wasteful government spending to lower costs, and I look forward to working toward a regular order appropriations process in the new year.”
