The Congressional Art Competition was created in 1982, and hundreds of thousands of high school students throughout the country have participated throughout the years. The winning artist’s work will be displayed for one year in the national exhibition in the Cannon Tunnel, a pedestrian walkway leading the U.S. Capitol. In addition, the first-place winner will receive airfare for two to Washington, D.C. where they can view their artwork in the exhibition and take part in a reception honoring their achievement.
