Today, the United States House of Representatives voted to include in the fiscal year 2018 appropriations bill, Congressman David G. Valadao’s (CA-21) amendment to ensure funding for ongoing de-mining projects in Nagorno Karabakh.

WASHINGTON – Today, the United States House of Representatives voted to include in the fiscal year 2018 appropriations bill, Congressman David G. Valadao’s (CA-21) amendment to ensure funding for ongoing de-mining projects in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Congressman David G. Valadao stated, “It is a grave reality that families in Nagorno-Karabakh live under the very real threat of landmine accidents each and every day.” He went on, “However, with the funding secured in my amendment, I am optimistic significant strides will be made to ensure the region is landmine free by 2020, restoring these communities so they may live without fear of mine-related accidents.”

The amendment to the H.R. 3354, the Make America Secure and Prosperous Appropriations Act passed by voice vote on Thursday, September 7, 2017.

Congressman David G. Valadao represents the 21st Congressional District, which includes Kings County and portions of Fresno, Tulare, and Kern Counties.
