Washington – Today, Monday, February 2, 2015, Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-21) issued the following statement on the release of the President’s Fiscal Year 2016 Budget Request.

“The budget request for FY 2016, the President released today is the seventh budget in a row that includes new tax hikes on the American people. While it is true our nation’s debt is unacceptable, it is not because Americans don’t pay enough taxes. It is because Washington spends too much.

“A balanced budget will foster a healthier economy and help create job, however, President Obama’s budget never balances. It’s time for the federal government to live within its means and get its spending problem under control. I will continue to work with my colleagues to achieve a responsible, budget that reduces wasteful spending and fraud, preserves and protects Medicare and Social Security for those who rely on these programs, and does not raise taxes on America’s hardest workers.”

Congressman David G. Valadao represents the 21st Congressional District, which includes Kings County and portions of Fresno, Tulare, and Kern Counties.
