This week, House Republican Leadership announced that immigration reform will not be addressed this year. Following the press conference Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-21) released the following statement:
“I am disappointed that my Republican colleagues will not address immigration reform this year. Despite many positive conversations, some still refuse to acknowledge the benefits of fixing our broken immigration system. We need Members from both Parties to set aside their differences and join together to deliver a common sense immigration solution for America,” Congressman Valadao stated.
“This issue is important to my constituents, our community, and to me personally. It directly touches every life in the Central Valley and will have significant impacts on every American throughout our country. Although I am upset with this most recent development, I remain committed to fighting for real, effective immigration reform.”
Congressman David G. Valadao represents the 21st Congressional District, which includes Kings County and portions of Fresno, Tulare, and Kern Counties.
