A shutdown doesn’t benefit anyone, and it’s past time for Democrats to stop with the reckless games, get serious about governing, and put the American people first.
WASHINGTON –Today, Congressman David Valadao (CA-22) issued the following statement on the federal government shutdown.
“As a member of the House Committee on Appropriations, I’ve worked hard to advance all 12 funding bills and voted for a clean, non-partisan extension of funding to keep the government open while Congress works toward a long-term solution,” said Congressman Valadao. “Unfortunately, Congressional Democrats refused to act responsibly and instead forced a shutdown—wasting taxpayer dollars, putting critical programs at risk, and hurting families across the country just to score political points. A shutdown doesn’t benefit anyone, and it’s past time for Democrats to stop with the reckless games, get serious about governing, and put the American people first."
