DELANO, CA – Yesterday, Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-22) joined Delano Public Works Director Roman Dowling and other city officials to tour an existing water treatment plant and preview the city’s plans for the Well 42 Project. Congressman Valadao worked with city officials to help them secure a $6 million federal grant to fund the project through the
Fiscal Year 2024 Consolidated Appropriations Act.
“Ensuring Central Valley communities have access to clean, reliable drinking water is my top priority in Congress,”
said Congressman Valadao. “This new facility will not only provide clean water for Delano families, but it will also help relieve some of the pressure on housing prices since new homes can’t be built in the area without a stable water supply. I was proud to play a small role in helping the city secure these funds and look forward to working with them on future projects to improve the community.”
Background:
The funding was secured through a Community Project Funding request submitted by Rep. Valadao in the FY24 Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Appropriations bill. Community Project Funding is a tool used by members of Congress to help direct available federal grant money to important projects in their community. Rep. Valadao’s Community Project Funding requests are publicly available on his website
