Congressman Valadao Questions OMB Director on President’s Budget, Highlights Valley Priorities

Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-22) questioned the Office of Management and Budget Director Shalanda Young about President Biden’s Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) Budget. Congressman Valadao asked Director Young about the president’s proposal to end certain tax deductions for independent energy producers, and highlighted its impact on oil producers in Kern county.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-22) questioned the Office of Management and Budget Director Shalanda Young about President Biden’s Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) Budget. Congressman Valadao asked Director Young about the president’s proposal to end certain tax deductions for independent energy producers, and highlighted its impact on oil producers in Kern county:

“Do you think it’s contradictory for President Biden to call on oil and gas companies to increase production, while at the same time his budget eliminates tax deductions and burdens domestic energy producers with significant tax increases,” Congressman Valadao asked.

Congressman Valadao also took the opportunity to highlight the desperate need to cut red tape and build more water storage in California.
