This week, I joined the Congressional Hispanic Conference for a press conference on all the work we're doing for the Hispanic Community. I consider myself lucky to have grown up in a community filled with so many unique perspectives, traditions, and experiences. This helped shape my understanding of what it means to serve in Congress and reminds me every day of how important it is to listen and work together to find real solutions.

I've seen firsthand the challenges the Hispanic community faces—from the rising cost of living to the need for good-paying jobs, access to quality healthcare, and real immigration reform. These are issues that are important to the Central Valley and families across the country, and I'm working in Congress to find common sense solutions.

This week, I welcomed Hanford Christian School to our nation's capital. It was great meeting these young learners and speaking with them about some of the history of the Capitol. On Wednesday, I met with the California Poultry Federation (CPF). In our meeting, we discussed how legislation affects our poultry industry. CPF represents the state’s turkey and chicken producers, marketers, and all segments of the industry including growers, hatchers, breeders, and processors. Their hard work is critical for the California poultry industry to thrive, and I look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.

On Thursday, I met with Central Valley representatives from California Citrus Mutual. During our meeting, we discussed the future of our farm economy, the Farm Bill, and the strength of California's citrus industry. I'm proud to support our growers and I remain committed to ensuring they have the resources they need to thrive.

While I was in Washington this week, Team Valadao was out in the Valley connecting with the community. My staff joined the Junior Leagues of California State Public Affairs Committee at their 2025 Winter Conference, where they presented a certificate in recognition of their important advocacy efforts for women, children, and families in Kern County. In Terra Bella, Team Valadao celebrated the groundbreaking for a new gymnasium at Carl F. Smith Middle School. Finally, they marked the grand opening of the Shafter Richland Extended Learning Opportunities Program Building, which will provide more resources for students and families.
