TULARE - Today, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture joined United States Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-21) for the 51st Annual World Ag Expo in Tulare, California.
At the event, Congressman Valadao and Secretary Perdue participated in a town hall meeting where members of the agriculture community were able to voice their opinions and ask questions related to agriculture policy at the federal level. Topics included federal milk marketing orders, water, the 2018 Farm Bill, and crop insurance.
Congressman David G. Valadao represents the 21st Congressional District, which includes Kings County and portions of Fresno, Tulare, and Kern Counties.
"California's diverse agricultural economy produces over 400 commodities and accounts for over a half of our nation's fruits and vegetables. At the center of our state's agriculture industry is the Central Valley - one of the most agriculturally rich regions in the entire world," stated Congressman Valadao. "Ensuring those in Washington fully understand the needs of Central Valley farmers and ranchers is critical and I appreciated the opportunity to host Secretary Perdue in Tulare County today."
